AN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME TO IMAGINE THE MATERIALS OF THE FUTURE

EEIGM is one of the 11 engineering schools in the University of Lorraine.

Traditional materials (metallic, polymer, ceramic) have given rise to advanced modern materials (composites, biomaterials, nanomaterials, smart materials etc), which must be ever more efficient and more environmentally-friendly.  The EEIGM engineer plays the main role in this “material adventure”, from designing the materials to recycling them and encouragingsustainable development.

Thanks to its international programme, EEIGM is a very unique school which allows its students to develop their open-mindedness and adaptability.  During their studies, each EEIGM student will spend at least one year abroad (at university, doing a research project and industrial internship) and carry out two linguistic internships.  They will work side by side with students from our partner universities for three years. They will therefore acquire a solid European culture and be able to speak four languages (French, English, German and Spanish).

EEIGM, founded in 1991, is the result of a project with a consortium of 6 European partner universities:

EEIGM is a member of the Franco-German University.

This unique partnership in materials science and engineering provides not only high level training but also solid knowledge of several foreign languages and cultures.  Students can obtain double or triple degrees.

The EEIGM engineer has all the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to make optimal choices concerning materials and their forming processes to meet the high demands in terms of quality and functionality of a technical object.

Solid knowledge of 3 languages (plus their native language) is a huge asset for finding a job in France and abroad and it opens the door to a multitude of possible careers.
