AN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME TO IMAGINE THE MATERIALS OF THE FUTURE

A consortium, 7 universities

EEIGM is one of the 11 engineering schools in the University of Lorraine.

Basic materials (metals, polymers, ceramics) are at the origin of more advanced modern materials (composites, biomaterials, nanomaterials, intelligent materials, etc.). They need to be ever more efficient and environmentally friendly.

EEIGM engineers play a key role in this new “materials odyssey”. From design to recycling, today’s materials are invented with sustainable development in mind.

Thanks to its international training program, the European School of Materials Engineering is a unique institution, enabling students to develop their open-mindedness and adaptability. Every EEIGM graduate has spent at least one year abroad (training, research internship, industrial internship), in addition to two language internships. For three years, they have worked alongside students from partner countries. He has thus acquired a solid European culture and a command of four languages (French, English, German and Spanish).

EEIGM, founded in 1991, is the result of a project with a consortium of 7 European partner universities:

EEIGM is a member of the Franco-German University

This unique partnership in materials science and engineering provides not only high level training but also solid knowledge of several foreign languages and cultures.  Students can obtain double or triple degrees.

The EEIGM engineer has all the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to make optimal choices concerning materials and their forming processes to meet the high demands in terms of quality and functionality of a technical object.

Solid knowledge of 3 languages (plus their native language) is a huge asset for finding a job in France and abroad and it opens the door to a multitude of possible careers.
