Founded in 1991, the European School of Materials Engineering (EEIGM) is part of the Lorraine INP Collegium of the University of Lorraine. A 5-year international public school, the EEIGM is accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI). The school currently relies on a consortium of 7 universities in France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Belgium and Austria.
European as its name suggests, the EEIGM attracts an average of 35% international students every year. Languages play a part in this attraction, but when it comes to attracting female students, materials are particularly appealing to high school students (40% of the school’s enrolment is female).
Two career paths are available: traditional engineering training or engineering training via apprenticeship.
