Equipment

The EEIGM is open Monday to Thursday from 07:30 to 21:30 and Friday from 07:30 to 20:30.

The school has 12 practical classrooms:

  • For engineering sciences studied in 1st and 2nd year: physics and chemistry.
  • For process engineering and characterization specialties: distillation, pumps, pressure drops, particle size analysis, etc., tensile testing machines, Charpy impact testing machines, durometers, X-ray diffractometers, scanning electron microscopes, optical microscopes, signal processing, tube furnaces, muffle furnaces, Raman spectroscopes, differential scanning calorimeters (DSC), fine analyzers of viscoelastic properties of polymers (DMA), etc.

Outside the classroom, engineering students have free access to classrooms, tutorials and computer rooms. The latter are equipped for scientific computing, 3D modeling, programming and office automation.

A video-recording and videoconferencing studio enables engineering students to record themselves individually or in small groups for oral presentations, internship defenses, language exams and job interview practice.

Relaxation areas are set up in the school halls, with armchairs, benches, shelves, bookcases, high tables and chairs, and USB chargers.

The BDE also manages the student foyer, where some of the activities of the various clubs take place.

The BU GM-GSI has a 285 m² space open to the public, including work areas (58 places), computer facilities and a relaxation area.

The library’s collection covers materials science (metals, polymers, glass, ceramics, composites, nanomaterials, etc.), systems engineering, innovation, management and languages.
The library is part of the Université de Lorraine’s network of 25 BUs, providing access to a wide range of online resources (journals, articles, ebooks, theses, dissertations, standards and patents, etc.).
A leisure collection is also available to users.
The ULysse catalog identifies and locates documentation from all BUs.
